- We apply a powder to the holes which will get on the bees as they pass through
- Nearby areas are sprayed with a chemical residual to prevent new holes and re-nesting
- After bees are killed we will seal holes with clear silicon. Other colours available if requested.
- Typically takes 7-10 days for treatment to take full effect

Entry Point Powder Application
We will apply a special powder around the entry points. When bees and wasps pass through the entry point, they will pick up some of the powder and bring it into the nest. The powder will slowly kill the nest and brood.
Direct Nest Treatment
If the nest is accessible, we will drill a hole in it and apply a spray directly, which will kill the nest within minutes. We will then remove and dispose of the nest.
Removing Honey Bee Nests
We will not perform extermination service on honey bee nests. Honey bees are essential pollinators and killing their nests could cause long-term damage to the local ecosystem. If you do need a honeybee nest removed, we recommend looking for local beekeepers who can relocate the nest without harming the bees. Some beekeepers may perform this service free-of-charge. The Ontario Bee Rescue website is a great starting resource. If you are not sure what species of bee you have, check our identification guide or contact us with photos and/or description.
Bee & Wasp Identification Guide
Honey Bees
Honey bees are easily mistaken for yellow jackets. Honey bees are slightly hairy and more orange, while yellow jackets are smooth and more yellow. They use cracks and crevices to access their nests. We do not exterminate honey bees so if you are not sure please contact us and we will help you identify the pest.
Bumble Bees
Bumble bees are black and yellow in colour and fat in size. They appear quite fuzzy and like to nest near the ground, typically drilling into the earth or into insulation.
Bald-faced Hornets
Hornets like to nest in high places like trees, eaves, or attics. Their nests have a paper-like texture, are shaped like balls, and are often visible from the open.
Carpenter Bees
Carpenter bees are hairy and are a single colour; commonly tan, brown or black. Unlike most other bees and wasp species, carpenter bees live independently. They chew into unstained or unpainted wood, making a hole a perfect quarter inch round. A drill bit could not drill a hole more perfect than those drilled by carpenter bees. You will typically find sawdust near such holes and a yellow stain directly underneath.
Umbrella Wasps
These wasps are black and yellow in colour. The legs hang behind them when they fly. The nest looks like honey comb cereal and are usually easily visible.
Yellow Jackets
Yellow jackets are easily mistaken for honey bees. Yellow jackets are smooth and more yellow, while honey bees are slightly hairy and more orange in colour. They use cracks and crevices to access their nests which are typically well-hidden, though sometimes the nests can be seen in sheds and attics. We do not exterminate honey bees so if you are not sure whether you have yellow jackets or honey bees please contact us and we will help you identify the species.
